Letter from President Prof. Alexandre Amaral

Dear colleagues,

I address all functional neurosurgeons from Brazil andacross Latin America to invite you to participate in the WSSFN 2025 INTERIM MEETING, which will beheld in Buenos Aires, from November 20th to 22nd, under the leadership of Prof. Fabian Piedimonte.

Equally important will be the Joint Meeting of SLANFE & ABCUR, on November 19th, also in Buenos Aires, led by Prof. Pagura. This will be a moment of greatrelevance for all of us.

The Brazilian Society of Stereotactic and FunctionalNeurosurgery (SBENF) has established itself as one ofthe largest and most respected functional neurosurgerysocieties in the world, recognized for its scientific andeducational strength, and for the key role it plays in advancing our specialty.

The presence of each member at these meetings not onlystrengthens the scientific dimension of our Society butalso reaffirms the spirit of unity that distinguishes us onthe international stage.

This event, brought from the world to Latin America, represents a recognition of the outstanding contribution ofBrazilian and Latin American neurosurgeons to thedevelopment of functional neurosurgery.

In the same spirit of brotherhood that has united us for somany years, I recall that in 2018, we hosted in Rio de Janeiro the INTERIM MEETING of the InternationalNeuromodulation Society (INS), presided over by me, which was made possible thanks to the fundamental support of Prof. Fabian Piedimonte, bringing the eventfor the first time to our country and to Latin America.

I warmly invite everyone to take part, as our activeparticipation is what truly demonstrates, in practice, thescientific greatness of SBENF and its leading position onthe world stage.
