Dra. Marie Krueger

  • Dr Krueger is a Consultant Neurosurgeon at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery Functional Unit in London, UK.

  • She graduated in Medicine from the University of Freiburg, Germany, and finished her neurosurgical residency in the Department of Neurosurgery of the University Medical Centre in Freiburg, Germany. She then pursued a one-year clinical fellowship in Stereotactic and Functional Medicine at Vancouver General Hospital, Vancouver, Canada, under the aegis of Professor Christopher Honey.

  • Dr Krueger was appointed Head of the Stereotactic and Functional program of the Kantonsspital StGallen in Switzerland, in 2019 before moving to London to join the Functional Unit at the National Hospital in late 2022. The same year, the University of Freiburg (Germany) awarded her the “Venia Legendi” for her work on “Directional Deep Brain Stimulation electrodes”. She continues to teach at the University of Freiburg as an Associate Professor.

  • Her clinical research includes directional electrodes, DBS for laryngeal dystonia, and new indications and targets for High Focused Ultrasound. Current interests also include DBS in severe refractory forms of Tourette syndrome, and radiofrequency ablation for obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression and refractory forms of pain.
